PayneGroup announces the release of an Administrator tool, an application used to set configuration options for the Metadata Assistant. The Metadata Assistant is the company’s award winning and first to market security tool for removing electronic metadata, which removes embedded and potentially embarrassing metadata from Microsoft Office, PDF, graphic, audio and video files.
This tool provides an easy-to-use interface that includes detailed descriptions of each setting available within the software. The Administrator tool offers dozens of configuration options including the ability to list domain names that should be considered internal when processing email. This option is helpful when using the setting to ignore email messages with file attachments when sending internally within the same organization. Other options range from setting default prompting behavior when sending email messages to default cleaning behavior for various file types.
When setting are configured using the Admin tool, those settings are stored in an XML file. The file can be deployed to the entire organization, or to specific individuals or groups. If the settings need to be changed, it’s as easy as opening the XML file and modifying those settings.
“One of our overall goals with products is to empower clients to be able to make and deploy changes themselves. This new administrator tool makes this possible with Metadata Assistant,” says Janet Del Aguila, Manager of Security Products. “We’re happy to offer this tool as part of the annual maintenance/support service to put more control into the hands of our customers who have an interest in making these types of changes themselves.”

The second nomination and shortlist is for Redact Assistant Cloud (for Office 365). Janet Del Aguila and Tara Byers manage the department that created the Redact Assistant for documents and spreadsheets. “We are beyond thrilled to be recognized by ILTA for these efforts,” says Donna Payne, CEO and founder of PayneGroup (and previous winner of an ILTA Thought Leader of the Year award). “Redact Assistant for cloud was a big effort that required us to rethink and re-architect how our applications are developed. And the outstanding work by Annette Sanders in redesigning and creating a Migration Roundtable and Master Series for Office 2016 is one of the most popular offerings at PayneGroup. It gives the clients a strong advantage in planning and preparing for their upgrades.”
